The discipline of Bansko Open 2022 is cross-country and Bansko will host the race for the first time. 27 competitors from 4 countries are taking part in it, including one of Bulgaria’s best paragliders 26-year-old Georgi Djolev from Bansko.
During the competition, the lifts Banderitsa 1 and 2 will be working between 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. and can be used by all tourists. You can check prices HERE.
The routes over Pirin will be mainly over the mountains and the valley around Razlog, Bansko and Banya. At good weather conditions the paragliders can reach the southern slopes of Rila, the most western slopes of the Rhodopi Mountains (Eleshnitsa, Yakoruda, Kovachevitsa, Leshten) and the valley of Gotse Delchev. The length of the routes is about 50 km, but on days with very good weather conditions they can reach 80-100 km.
The competition is organized by the Skynomad air sports club with the assistance of the Municipality of Bansko and Ulen and will be held according to the rules of the World Air Sports Federation FAI and the Bulgarian National Aero Club.
