Tseko Minev was re-elected as chairman of the Bulgarian Ski Federation by a full majority in the General Assembly. So the owner of Fibank, during whose period in office Bansko has become the best resort in Eastern Europe and permanent host of FIS World Cups, will lead BFSki at least until 2023.
For Minev this is the 4th consecutive 5-year term, which is an absolute record in the 94-year history of the Federation. His first term started in 2003, when Bansko’s progress actually began. Thanks to Minev 7 FIS World Cups took place in Bansko in the years 2009 to 2018 - 5 in skiing and 2 in snowboarding. In the next 3 upcoming seasons, Banderishka Polyana will host another 3 and even a FIS World Cup U20.
After the election of the Chairman and the Board the budget of the federation for 2018 was adopted – BGN 3.3 million. Most of the money will be provided by general sponsors and TV rights.
"Since I and the entire Management Board received full confidence for another five-year term, people believe in what we are doing. In the following years, we have decided to pay much more attention to the clubs in order to solve as quickly as possible their problems, which are mostly infrastructural, so the racers can train somewhere. National teams are on the right way and I think we will continue in this direction", Tseko Minev stated.
