Bansko is another year among the most affordable ski destinations in Europe.
"This year’s Post Office ski report on costs in the Alps, in collaboration with Crystal Ski, shows that if you want a cheap deal, you should make a beeline for Bulgaria, which leads the list when it comes to reasonable prices”, states Daily Mail’s article, referring to the annual report of the online platform "Post Office" prepared in partnership with one of the leading British tour operators - Crystal Ski Holiday.
“In Pirin National Park, 100 miles from Sofia, Bulgaria’s capital, Bansko has more pistes than Borovets. Slopes are accessed via a fast gondola, but you can ski all the way back to the resort. Great for beginners and early intermediate”. The article also states that the price for a one-week stay in Bansko starts at around 400 pounds, including travel costs and B&B. After checking the booking site mentioned in the article, the team of Bansko Media Group found even lower prices than the offer quoted by the Daily Mail.
Borovets tops the list of cheap European ski destinations, but according to the authors, the Rila Mountain resort does not offer as good conditions for winter sports as Bansko.
In Post Office's ranking it stands out that among the top-10 most profitable ski destinations in Europe there are also four Italian resorts, although significantly more expensive than the Bulgarian ones.
