According to the ranking, which you can check HERE, Bansko is among the World-leading ski resorts with up to 80 km of slopes for 2022. This next award for Bulgaria comes from the world’s largest test portal for ski resorts skiresort.info.
Prizes are awarded in the following categories:
- World's Best Ski Resort, which for 2022 is the Austrian Kitzbühel
- Best ski resorts worldwide, including Ischgl, Arosa, Val Gardena and the American Beaver Creek
- World-leading ski resorts with up to 80 km of slopes, where next to Bansko are the Norwegian Trysil and the Austrian Kitzsteinhorn
- There are categories for World-leading ski resorts with up to 60,40,30 and 20 km of slopes
To be among the winners in any of the categories, each a resort must receive at least 4.2 out of a total of 5 stars. Bulgaria’s Best Ski Resort Bansko, received 4.2 stars. Among the most important evaluation criteria are ski resort size, variety of runs, lifts and slope preparation. The ranking also takes into account the opportunity for family vacations, gastronomy and environmental friendliness - for the last criterion, Bansko has been taking important steps for many years, and a procedure is currently underway to select an independent environmental consultant to help with new ideas for environmental protection.
