10 out of 10 - these are the statistics from Bansko's participation in the competition for the prestigious World Ski Awards, after it was again selected as Bulgaria’s Best Ski Resort 2022! The winner was determined through a 16-week online vote that took place between June 17th and October 7th, 2022 at www.worldskiawards.com.

211 resorts from 25 countries on 5 continents competed this year. The voting activity broke all records since more than 4 million people participated in the process. This shows that the survey is not only the largest in the industry, but also one of the biggest conducted officially at all. The voting methodology is clear: votes are submitted by professionals working in the ski industry, users of the service, tour operators, agents and the media.

Managed by the concessionaire Ulen, the ski center under Todorka peak has dominated the ranking since 2013 with only Austria's Kitzbühel, France's Val Thorens, America's Deer Valley and Russia's Rosa Khutor boasting the same feat. Due to the war in Ukraine however, the Russians were not allowed to compete this year.

The 2022-2023 ski season will be officially opened on December 17th, 2022 in the presence of the legendary Austrian skier Maria Riesch. On January 21st and 22nd, 2023 Bansko will once again host the FIS Snowboard World Cup!
