Rado Yankov, born in the Rhodope Mountains, but already a symbol of Bansko proved that Pirin Mountain is a special place for him. The 28-year-old won two consecutive national titles in the parallel disciplines at Shiligarnika - the heart of the ski area in Bansko.
The State Championship, part of the FIS calendar, took place on slope Nr. 8 under completely different weather conditions - bright sun on the first day and heavy snowfall on the second. Despite the weather the organization by Bulgaria Ski Federation and the hosts Ulen was perfect. The race was participated by athletes from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Ukraine, Romania, Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Although he was riding with an injured back, Rado became the undisputed winner in the parallel giant slalom (PGS) and 24 hours later he took the gold medal in the parallel slalom (PS). Thus the ace of "Amer Sports" achieved its 5th consecutive double success in the State Championship.
