According to the FIS calendar for the new season for the first time in its history Bulgaria will host World Cup starts in alpine skiing and snowboarding in the same year.
On February 10 and 11, 2024, the best alpine skiers in the world will compete in Bansko in two of the most attractive disciplines - giant slalom and slalom. Bulgaria's Best Ski Resort (according to World Ski Awards) is hosting these two men's disciplines for the second time after 2012.
The Bulgarian resort Pamporovo will host for the first time World Cup races: two snowboard races in parallel slalom will be held on January 20 and 21.
The confidence that FIS has given to Bulgaria is a result of the excellent work that the Bulgarian Ski Federation has done in organizing Ski and Snowboard World Cups since 2007. During this period, our country has hosted 8 World Cup races in skiing and 3 in snowboarding in Bansko and one Snowboarding World Cup in Sofia, as well as FIS Alpine Junior World Championships in skiing and snowboarding. Since 2003, Bansko, Borovets, Pamporovo and Osogovo have also hosted 13 European cups in alpine skiing and snowboarding.
The Council of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) confirmed the World Cup schedule for the 2023/24 season during the Council's Spring Session, which took place in Zurich on May 24th.
