A new British ranking places Bansko among the top family ski destinations in Europe. This was reported by the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph, which are referring to the 13th annual report of the online platform "Post Office" prepared in partnership with one of the leading British tour operators - Crystal Ski Holiday.
25 top locations from Europe participated this Budget Family Vacation Study. The experts took into account the costs of lifts, ski rental, food (lunch and drinks for two adults and two children) calculated on a weekly basis and excluding travel and accommodation costs.
According to the study the prices in Bansko have dropped by 0.3 per cent compared to last season, with a four-member family holiday worth £ 1529.72 (EUR 1769.79), or calculated at the BNB exchange rate - BGN 3461.40 (BGN 576.90 per day). The price has been formed considering the following costs: £ 1,250.42 (EUR 1,446.65) for lift passes, ski rental and a ski instructor for 6-days. The remaining £ 279.30 (EUR 323.13) could be used for 12 coffees, 12 cockes and 12 beers and a dozen glasses of wine plus 6 lunches on the slopes.
Bardonecchia takes the second position in the ranking with a rise of the costs by 9.8% or a total of £1621.88 (EUR 1876.41) per week and the third place goes to Sestriere with £1724.84 (EUR 1995.53). In the top 5 are two more Italian winter resorts - Passo Tonale and Claviere. In the top ten are the Slovenian Kranjska Gora (winner in 2017), the Austrian Ellmau and Rauris, Arinsal in Andorra and La Thuile in the Apennines.
