The concessionaire of the Bansko ski area "Ulen", Bansko Municipality, the Alliance for Promotion and Development of Tourism in Bansko and different hoteliers decided to provide a free weekend for all medics in Bulgaria who fight on the front line against COVID-19. The holiday package is for the next winter season and includes accommodation in hotels, food, ski passes and in case needed a ski instructor and ski equipment rental.
"Through this initiative we want to show our gratitude to the doctors, nurses, ambulance and volunteers for their commitment and courage. We are proud to support the medics who have been working now for more than two months without a break. We want to welcome them as our special guests", said Ivan Obreykov, marketing director of "Ulen", concessionaire of the Bansko ski area. This donation is part of our contribution to the society and in particular to the country's healthcare system in the fight to limit the spread of COVID-19, he added. Bansko is the only town in Bulgaria that was completely blocked under a 14-day quarantine due to the pandemic. However, the resort was the first to decide to thank the country's medics.
Bansko is Bulgaria’s Best Ski Resort for the seventh consecutive year, announced by the World Ski Awards. The International Ski Federation (FIS) has once again chosen the small Bulgarian town to host the Men’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup (Super G and GS) on February 27thand 28th, 2021. From March 1st to March 10th, 2020 for the first time Bansko will host the U21 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships.
More details about the initiative can be found soon at www.banskoski.com.
