Everyone who wants Bansko to win its 6thconsecutive World Ski Award, can vote now!
The voting has started on June 1st, 2018 on the webpage of the highest instance in the tourism industry that is equal to the movie Oscars. The procedure continues until September 22nd, 2018. 208 top resorts from 26 countries spread on 5 continents participate the 16-week online competition. According to the rules, first are defined the winners on a national and then on global level. Almost 2 million people from at least 143 countries are expected to vote at Worldskiawards.com. This makes the competition the largest in the industry.

Bansko is among only 9 resorts with a full set of 5 prizes of the World Ski Awards - this is an indicator of high class. Our little town is on top since 2013 among top resorts such as the host Kitzbühel, Austria’s winter center with an iconic status, Europe's highest resort Val Thorens, the German pearl of the FIS World Cup Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the jewel of the Russian crown Rosa Khutorwell known from the Sochi Olympics in 2012, the Swedish Are -2-time host of the World Ski Championships, the exclusive Swiss resort Laax, the Norwegian Trysil as well as the famous American Deer Valley.
Like previous year, Bansko is nominated in 3 out of 4 main categories ("Best Ski Resort", "Best Ski Hotel", "Best Boutique Hotel" and "Best Ski Chalet" ). Our competitors from Bulgaria are as usual Borovets, Pamporovo and Vitosha. In the category “BestSki Hotel” Kempinski Grand Arena Bansko, which has already 4 titles, competes again with the local Lucky Bansko, Regnum Bansko Apart Hotel & Spa and Premier Luxury Mountain Resort. The online race is also participated by Festa, Rila and Yastrebets inBorovets and Orlovets in Pamporovo. For the third time in a row, however, we have no representative in the category "Best Boutique Hotel", since the legendary hotel Tanne will be absent due to legal issues. In the category "Best Ski Chalet" the British "Jora" and "Milla" complement a total of 7 nominations for Bansko (the most among all Bulgarian resorts) and the two will compete with the 4-time winner Villa Gela in Pamporovo and Villa Strezov in Borovets.

The Arosa Hotel in Kitzbühel will traditionally host the World Ski Awards ceremony between November 16thand 18th.
