The countdown for the biggest sports event for 2020 in Bulgaria has started in the International Press Center next to Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, where the Organizing Committee got together and traditionally convened a meeting between all leaders of the teams that will participate the preparations for the starts on January 25th and 26th, when the Ladies will compete in Downhill and Super G for the fourth time after 2009, 2012 and 2015. By hosting races in the first month of the year Bansko enters the club of the most elite winter resorts, because in January the privilege of hosting the FIS World Cup have only the Austrian Kitzbühel and Schladming, the Swiss Adelboden and Wengen, the German Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Italian Cortina d’Ampezzo.
The hosts Ulen and BFSki are well known at FIS with their image of perfect host since their debut in 2009 in the most commercial race in the most popular white sport. The upcoming FIS World Cup will be the 9th in Bansko (including the two World Cups in Snowboarding in 2017 and 2018).
Meanwhile, the accreditation for the journalists for January 25th and 26th has begun. Due to the enormous interest, each media has the right to request two representatives (reporter and photographer/cameraman) and the registrations are already open at www.banskoworldcup.com.
