Bulgarian freeriders achieved 3 victories for men and women in the big international competition, which is a qualifying round for Freeride World Tour, which took place on March 10th, 2024 and the starting point was Todorka peak, 2746 m.
Bulgarian women are dominating the discipline snowboard by taking the whole podium: the winner is Teodora Ilieva, followed by Iliana Mihovska and Teodora Zlateva.
Borislav Stoyanov (BG) took the title in men's snowboarding, second became Alexander Simu (AUT) and the third place goes to Zlatko Zlatkov (RNM).
In women's skiing, Shisato Sasada (Japan) finished first. Second is Marte Tveteu (Nor), followed by Zanna Farrell (Australia).
The third victory for Bulgaria was achieved by skier Simeon Pavlov, followed by Michael Rale (AUT) and Baptiste Coromp (F).
All guests watched the competition from the highest fan zone in Bulgaria, located next to the top station of the lifts "Plato" and "Banderitsa 2" at 2550 m above sea level, from where an excellent view of the entire slope was revealed.
This year juniors also participated the competition for the first time, fighting for points in the Freeride World Tour Junior 2.
All competitors were evaluated by 6 certified judges. The final evaluation was formed by criteria such as difficulty of the selected line, control during the entire descent, ease of execution of the individual elements, as well as technique and complexity of the jumps.
