The Ulen ski club confirmed its complete domination this season, recording a double win in the oldest competition in Bulgaria - Pirin Cup.
Record holder Maria Kirkova won the two FIS starts on the Alberto Tomba track in Bansko. At the giant slalom her time was 2:07.10, leaving Petra Veljkovic from Serbia with 1.36 seconds , and Ida Broens (DEN) with 4.09 seconds behind. On the next day 32-year-old Kirkova won the slalom as well with 1:50.58. Petra Veljkovich took again the second position and Sophia Ralli from Greece brought home bronze.
At the mens giant slalom, the Pirin Prize goes to Albert Popov. The 20-year-old recorded a total time of 2:00.72 min - ahead of Spaniards Juan del Campo (+0.46 ) and Aingeru Garay (+1.58). In the slalom, his teammate Kamen Zlatkov was fastest, leaving behind Zan Groselj (SLO) and Elias Kolega (CRO). The male starts were exotic, with 52 participants, having contestants even from Libya and Australia.
