Andrey Balevski (ski), Denislav Bodichev (snowboard), Simeon Pavlov (ski) and Nikola Abadjiev (snowboard) descended in the Bansko ski zone in one day (February 19th, 2021) over 40,000 vertical meters!

Andy and Denis made 58, and Simeon and Nikola 57 descents with the Todorka lift on the iconic Balkaniada track. The displacement of the 6-seater lift is a little over 700 meters, and when you add the descent via ski road to the bottom station of the gondola lift in Bansko, the total vertical meters of Andy and Denis are exactly 42,231 within one working day of the facilities. For comparison, this is almost 5 times the height of Mount Everest (8848 m above sea level)!

The pre-set goal was to descend 30,000 vertical meters in the ski area without closing a track for this endeavor. Andy, Denis, Simeon and Nikola used only a separate corridor to access the lift, which takes them in less than 7 minutes from Shiligarnika at 1725 m above sea level up to 2425 m above sea level. It took them every time an average of about 2 minutes (!) to descend the slope before getting back on the lift. On the seats they consumed food and drinks before the next 2 minutes of pure adrenaline on the track - 58 times in a row!

"The best thing is that we have significantly exceeded the goal we had set for the day and that everyone is alive and well. It was important for us to follow all the safety rules of FIS and to have fun in this challenge. The weather and the track were perfect. And Simeon Pavlov and Nikola Abadjiev showed how much potential there is in the next generation - they made only 1 descent less than Denis and me! ", said Andy at the end of the day with a cup of tea in his hand.

"I feel good and I have the strength for more. Now I will go home to walk the dog and empty the refrigerator. Probably when the adrenaline rush is gone I will feel crushed, but we can still do billiards", said Denis at the final in Bansko.

The fab four descended the track with an average speed of about 60 km/h, the maximum detected speed of Andy is 121.1 km/h! The total mileage for the day is exactly 145 km.
