60.1% of Bulgarians support the idea of ​​building a second gondola lift in Bansko – twice as much as the opponents (29,7%). This shows a recent study by the Agency Sova Harris, conducted after the Supreme Administrative Court of Bulgaria overturned the government decree on expanding the ski area in the resort. The association “Future for the Municipality of Bansko” proposed that a referendum should solve the biggest problem for the city and for the tourism in Bulgaria.

If the vote was held today only 23.3% of the respondents of the survey would share the opinion of the so called ​environmental NGOs that the current legislation protects the interests of people living and working in mountain areas. Currently 48.3% believe the opposite.

50.3% responded disapprovingly to the question "What is your attitude to the current restriction on the development of ski tourism in Bulgaria?" Only 31.8% approve the cause of Toma Belev. 54.5% of the people state that the biodiversity is not threatened by the development of the ski tourism – only 29,3% think the opposite.
