French actor William Abadie, who plays the role of businessman Antoine Lambert in the acclaimed series “Emily in Paris,” participated on January 21st, 2026 in the European Alpine Snowboarding Cup in Bansko, where he finished in honorable 32nd place!
The charming Frenchman told banskoski.com that he grew up in the French Alps and has been passionate about sports since childhood. He is an experienced alpine snowboarder, finished in Ironman Lake Placid and is a dedicated marathon runner with dozens of races under his belt. As of today, Abadie lives in New York and Paris and alpine snowboarding brought him to Bulgaria
“I am so happy to discover this place! It’s my first time here. One will be tempted to say nice things to be polite, but I will say nice things, because this is everything I felt about Bulgaria from the moment I landed. Everything - from the hospitality to the organisation… From the moment I reached out to the Bulgarian Ski Federation, somebody responded right away with the concise information, with support right away. That was very impressive in the first place. We are staying in a very nice hotel (ed. note: 4 Points by Sheraton Bansko) - I grew up in hospitality, so I have an opinion on it. And the place itself, the mountains are majestic. I grew up in the French Alps… this (here) is different style, but it’s as breathtaking and surprising”, said Abadie immediately after finishing at Banderishka Polyana at Bansko Ski Area.

Abadie was born in southeastern France. After studying in Paris, at the age of 25 he moved to New York, where he graduated from the prestigious Lee Strasberg acting academy. He has appeared in dozens of hit productions, including Sex and the City, Emergency Room, Homeland, Ugly Betty and Emily in Paris.
“This morning we went up six thirty… and I arrived at the top of the mountain with a red sky, I’ve never seen such a thing! Well I had in Star Wars”, concluded the smiling Frenchman, adding that he can't wait to return to Pirin Mountains again.
