On December 14th, 2024 the official kick-off of winter season 2024-2025 took place at Banderishka Polyana. The conditions for winter sports are excellent - the entire ski area is open, except Chalin Valog and the Ski road, which is also expected to open very soon.

“The conditions are wonderful and the slopes are excellent. This year we managed to open even on St. Nicholas Day (December 6th)! Hopefully the weather conditions will continue to be so favorable throughout the winter season, because that way we can defend the title of Bulgaria’s Best Ski Resort, which was awarded to us by the World Ski Awards through anonymous voting,” said Ivan Obreykov, Marketing Director of Ulen AD.

In the presence of the official guests - the ski legends Michael Walchhofer and Marc Girardelli, thousands of winter sports fans drew their first turns on the excellent white canvas. At the foot of Mount Todorka, the Minister of Tourism Mr. Evtim Miloshev, the Mayor of Bansko Mr. Stoycho Banenski and the best Bulgarian footballer of all time Hristo Stoichkov showed very good skills in skiing.

"It's an honor for me to be in Bansko. I'm impressed by the slopes and the conditions here," said downhill world champion in 2003 Michael Walchhofer, Bansko's Mayor Stoycho Banenski was competing in his team.

The guests at Banderishka Polyana enjoyed a concert by the Bulgarian pop diva Dara and tried their luck in the traditional fun games “Treasure Hunters” and the competition “Get in the Team of the Champ”, in which the legendary skiers Marc Girardelli and Michael Walchhofer were the ski team leaders. In the end, a season pass for the lifts in Bansko goes to Mr. Anton Koyuv from team Girardelli, in which also competed the Minister of Tourism Mr. Evtim Miloshev. The grand prize - a brand new electric bicycle from the game “Treasure Hunters” was dug out of the snow by Ioana Krusharska. In addition to the two winners dozens of other guests of Banderishka Polyana took home smaller prizes and memories of an excellent start to the winter season!
