A new survey has announced Bansko as the most profitable winter resort in Europe. It is curious that the study is done by the media in one of the most non-mountainous countries on the continent – Belgium, where the main EU institutions are located. The analysis of the local media there is accurate because it is based on data from the world's largest search engine for holidays – Hometogo.com.
It states that a 4 person family will pay € 450 for a week in Bansko while in Pamporovo it will cost € 500.
The most expensive ski destination in Europe is Switzerland, where a 4 member family needs €2706 for a week, or €451 per day - asmuch asit will pay for all 6 nights in Bansko. It is specified that the indicated prices exclude rental of ski equipment, lift cards and expensesonthe ski runs.
After the recent geopolitical changes in North Africa and the attacks in Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco, where Belgian tourists traditionally spend their holidays, the local media now recommend more and more holidays in Bulgaria and specifically in Bansko, which is described as the new Ibiza. The articles point out “unexpensive drinks, excellent food, fabulous places, low entrance fees for nightclubs, and an all-year round party mood.“
