In the battle for first place Karl overtook the leader of the qualifications Arnaud Godet (Canada). Third is Gian Casanova (Switzerland), who successively eliminated the Bulgarian aces Tervel Zamfirov and Radoslav Yankov, who remained in the final standings fifth and tenth.
The winners were awarded by Stoycho Banenski, Mayor of Bansko, Tseko Minev, Chairman of BFSki and member of the FIS Executive Committee and Katalin Kretsu, Director of VISA for Eastern Europe.
"I can't say I'm unhappy, but of course fifth place in the world means that today only four snowboarders were faster than me. The competition is brutal and you have to pay attention to the fact that the difference between the first and the 16th was less than 60 hundredths", Tervel Zamfirov said.
"I cannot afford to risk everything, you have to ride smart. There are certain situations in which the risk is justified, but in most cases you have to ride with a certain tactic. We will see what the Canadian coach will order and we will decide what boards to ride with tomorrow. This is a race. We all want to succeed and be at the top, but this is not always possible," said Radoslav Yankov, who is the only Bulgarian, winner of the World Cup in winter sports.
