Bansko is the most preferred winter tourism destination for 34% of the Bulgarians. The data comes from a national representative survey conducted between November 30th and December 6th 2018 by “Trend” Research Center by the face-to-face method among 1007 adult citizens.

Second in the ranking is Borovets with 17% and Pamporovo with 12% is third - the result of those two combined can not reach the result of Bulgaria’s top resort. According to this survey most of the young people aged 18-29 prefer to spend their vacation in Bansko.

Over 650 000 Bulgarians (12%) are planning a holiday in the mountains this season. 79% will stay at home, while 9% have not decided yet. 83% of those who are planing winter holidays declare that they will travel in Bulgaria, 11% intend to do so abroad. 54% of the respondents describe the conditions for winter tourism in Bulgaria as good. Only 3% consider them as bad.
